Physio helps Manu recover from accident

Manu, an 18-year-old from Salyan district in western Nepal, was left paralysed below the waist by a tragic accident when she fell from a cliff while collecting food for her family’s cattle.

Life was already tough for her family of six in their rural village, where Manu’s father relies on daily wage work when he can find it to provide for them.

They struggled to cover the significant expenses of her initial hospital treatment. Eventually, Manu was discharged with both legs paralysed, leaving her unable to walk and entirely dependent on care from her family.

Manu needs ongoing rehabilitation and regular physiotherapy to improve her condition. She sought help from of INF’s Shining Hospital in Surkhet, where thanks to the Medical Charity Fund she could access three months of regular physiotherapy sessions.

Thanks to the care she received, Manu now has some mobility with the aid of a walker and can perform her daily activities. Her mother, overjoyed by her progress, can now also find some work to support the family. The entire family are so grateful to INF for the support that has brought renewed hope.
