Last week’s devastating flash flood along the Bhotekoshi river is set to be one of the most serious disasters Nepal has faced in recent years. More than 10,000 families could need emergency relief in the coming days.

Shortly before this happened, INF Nepal and our other local partners had already begun responding to smaller floods and landslides triggered by the monsoon season. In the first week after the flash flood, we were able to deliver emergency supplies to 1,500 people. INF Nepal also quickly set up a health camp in Nuwakot and sent doctors and nurses to provide essential healthcare to survivors.

Plans are now being made to get vital relief to another 5,000 people in Rasuwa district. With your help, we can do much more.

Indu is one of those facing a sudden, unimaginable loss. She told our partners:

“My house was swept away by the flood. Everything my family had worked for has been lost. My elder son is still missing. My husband and youngest son narrowly escaped the flood and survived by luck. I feel completely empty because I have lost my home, property, and my son.”
