28 Feb “Thankful to Green Pastures for the care and support”
Avi is a 12-year-old boy who has been living with cerebral palsy since his birth. Avi is from Baglung district but his mother has rented a room near Green Pastures Hospital (GPH) so that he can receive therapy sessions on regular basis.
Avi’s mother’s only wish is to see her son walking independently, so she brings him to GPH for physio and occupational therapy sessions. She is so motivated that whenever the therapists in the hospital are busy, she helps Avi with gait training with the ankle/foot orthosis provided by the hospital.
He has also received wheelchair from the hospital. Avi’s mother said: “The wheelchair has helped me a lot. I do not need to carry my son from my room to the hospital. This is such a relief. I am always thankful to Green Pastures for the care and support my child has been receiving.”
Green Pastures services expand to reach more children
Building on INF Nepal’s experience with cerebral palsy clinics and camps, GPH now offers access to integrated and affordable clinical services for children with a wider range of developmental disorders and their carers. The expansion of the scope of this service led to more families accessing treatment and therapy, which benefited 172 children during the 12 months ending in June 2022.
