We work with partners in Nepal to deliver projects improving healthcare for the most vulnerable, making communities more resilient, and helping with emergency relief when natural disasters strike.

Last year, INF UK supporters funded work that helped more than 50,000 people.

These numbers are more than statistics. They represent thousands of individual lives changed, with new futures opening up for their families and the communities around them.

The numbers

Healthcare

40,620 people in need accessed services funded by UK supporters at INF’s three hospitals in Pokhara, Banke and Surkhet. This included:

• 29,574 women and children treated across INF’s three hospitals and health projects.
• 11,665 people received treatment at Shining Hospital in Banke, which is a regional hub for leprosy care.
• 1,507 people overcame barriers caused by disability through hospitals and community health projects.

Resilient Communities

Projects in remote communities help to strengthen livelihoods for the most disadvantaged people, including those from the lowest caste who own very little land, live far from basic infrastructure like roads and health posts, and are most affected by extreme weather.

• 4,346 people last year improved their livelihoods through projects funded by our supporters. 64% of these were women, children and young people.

Emergency Relief

Landslides, flash flooding and drought all affected vulnerable people in Nepal last year.

• 3,319 people received practical and compassionate support to recover, thanks to donations from INF UK supporters funding our partners’ emergency relief.
